About the Competition

The 1st ODR Nexus Arbitration Moot Court Competition is an innovative academic initiative aimed at reimagining the manner in which law students engage with arbitration and dispute resolution. Conducted entirely in an online format, the Competition seeks to provide a rigorous and immersive platform for participants to develop and demonstrate their advocacy, analytical, and research skills in a contemporary legal setting. In recent years, arbitration has assumed a central role in the resolution of commercial and cross-border disputes, owing to its efficiency, flexibility, and reduced reliance on traditional court systems. The ODR Nexus Arbitration Moot addresses this gap by adopting a structure that reflects real-world arbitral proceedings within a technology-driven environment. Participants will engage in simulated arbitration hearings, address complex legal and procedural issues, and refine their ability to respond to judicial interventions in a virtual setting.

The Competition is exclusively for law students from the North-Eastern region of India, with the aim of creating greater academic and professional opportunities for students from the region. It seeks to foster legal excellence, encourage participation in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and contribute to the development of a more inclusive arbitration ecosystem.

By integrating legal scholarship with digital innovation, the 1st ODR Nexus Arbitration Moot Court Competition aspires to equip participants with the skills and exposure necessary for the future of dispute resolution.
